IOC
hihi, i am IOC, u must seen and heard pple uttering my name millions of times for the past few weeks and even more often for these few days. it is good that pple have chosen me to come to singapore. why good leh(pardon my attempt to speak singlish)? cuz for me being in this sunny, tho abit tiny island, i shall bestow the people of singapore a multitude of benefits. hehe, i bet all u clever singaporeans now wad they are, so, i will not go into that.
but most importantly, i am the closest thing that singapore will get to hosting the olympics(something that can never happen), unless...
singapore reclaims a land area the size of pulau tekong to host the events. better still, they can host the triathalon on pulau tekong. i honestly dunno what goes on in this island. but during a visit to the nearby starbucks outlet at raffles city, i overhead this conversation by a group of teenaged guys with the same buzz cut( i thought they belong to some cult since the whole group of them(roughly 7) had the identical length and style of hair. i was wrong la(see, singlish has affected me so much)...they were in fact new recruits enlisted by the singapore government to protect this lovely city)saying how terrible life is there, keep getting "ter-karned" by their sergeants. so i was thinking, let's propose to the goverment to set the triathalon there(cuz i overheard another saying how beautiful the scenery is there). then, since there are no road links to the main island from pulau tekong, the olympians could swim across the sea and then start their run to the finishing point at the olympic village(island). this could prove to the recruits i saw at starbucks that swimming across to changi from pulau tekong isn't impossible(i heard one of them saying this).
oh, i left the best to the last, olympic village, as mentioned earlier, shall be a reclaimed island off the shore of the famed east coast park(had chilli crab there last week, brillian i must say!). the island will be equipped with state of the art sporting facilities(heard that singapore wants to focus more on sports right?)like a mega stadium where huge events like the national day parade(sheesh, i will be out of singapore by then) can be held. it's a huge yet good investment in the long run. furthermore, more space can be created on the main island when the old and crumbling national stadium is demolished, with the olypmic stadium taking its place in the olympic village.
ah, how nice if this were to happen!
meanwhile, it's time for me to pack up and head over to esplanade where i am wanted for tonight's IOC opening ceremony. it's on at 7.25 on channel news asia. so do catch me there eh!
cheerios!
ps: ya lar...this is my hopes and aspirations for singapore to host the olympics la, i know it can never happen. but no harm dreaming about it right? :)
9th day in aircast...
